We are partnering with a leading global hedge fund to hire a Japan Power Analyst for its Sydney-based commodities team. This is a high-impact investment role focused on generating differentiated fundamental views across the Japanese power market and translating them into actionable trading insights.
The successful candidate will develop supply-demand and price forecasting models, analyse generation economics, fuel inputs, weather, outages, transmission constraints and regulatory developments, and identify catalysts that can drive Japanese power prices. You will work closely with Portfolio Managers and traders, providing both short-term market intelligence and longer-term structural analysis.
We are interested in candidates with strong experience across Japanese power, energy markets or commodities, combined with excellent quantitative and fundamental analytical skills. Experience building proprietary market models and a strong understanding of JEPX and the broader Japanese electricity market would be highly advantageous.
