Hedge Funds - hiring in Asia!

With more than 50 investing teams in the area, Izzy Englander's $59 billion Millennium Management employs a staff that has grown in size over the previous three years. They are about to fill an additional 45 investing and operational positions throughout Asia-Pacific outside of India.

According to Bloomberg reports, Balyasny Asset Management today has three times as many trading pods throughout Asia as it did in late 2020.

Schonfeld Strategic Advisors added more than 30 investment-related employees throughout Asia this year.

ExodusPoint Capital Management increased its Asian staff to 75 employees by the middle of this year, with 45 of them working in the investment sector.

Steve Cohen's Point72 Asset Management has boosted its regional workforce by 15% to 260 workers since the year 2020.

Direct competitors have always been prime candidates for hiring talent. But with almost every platform expanding, it's getting harder to achieve that. According to a Bloomberg analysis of the almost 160 new local regulatory licenses granted to them this year, such corporations were only able to fill less than 15% of new positions in Hong Kong with graduates of their closest counterparts. The statistics showed that approximately a quarter of those roles were instead filled by hires from non-platform hedge firms.
