We are seeking an accomplished GenAI Lead to spearhead research and development of generative AI technologies within one of the world’s most prestigious hedge funds. This role offers the opportunity to shape the direction of AI strategy, working at the intersection of cutting-edge research, scalable technology, and alpha generation.
You will lead initiatives to apply large language models (LLMs), multi-modal AI, and generative systems to financial research, trading, and decision-making. Collaborating closely with quantitative researchers, portfolio managers, and engineers, you will play a pivotal role in developing AI-driven solutions that enhance predictive modeling, data interpretation, and trading efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead research, development, and deployment of next-generation generative AI systems.
- Drive innovation in large-scale LLMs, multi-modal models, and reinforcement learning tailored to complex financial data.
- Identify and integrate alternative/unstructured datasets (text, images, time-series, etc.) into modeling pipelines.
- Translate cutting-edge research into production-ready AI solutions that directly impact trading and investment strategies.
- Build and mentor a team of top-tier researchers and engineers focused on GenAI applications in finance.
- Collaborate with global stakeholders to align GenAI initiatives with broader investment and research goals.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- PhD or MS in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, Applied Mathematics, or related field.
- Proven track record of impactful research in Generative AI / LLMs / deep learning with publications or notable industry contributions.
- Hands-on expertise with modern ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX) and distributed training of large-scale models.
- Experience applying GenAI to unstructured, high-dimensional, or domain-specific datasets.
- Strong leadership skills with experience building and guiding AI research teams.
- Intellectual curiosity, problem-solving creativity, and a passion for applying GenAI to high-stakes, real-world challenges.
- Prior exposure to financial markets is advantageous but not required.
