With an expanding team in the Middle East, the firm is seeking an Assistant Portfolio Manager (APM) to specialize in FX volatility strategies. Role overview

The FX Volatility APM will support senior portfolio managers in managing and scaling volatility-focused strategies across G10 and EM FX. The role blends quantitative research, derivatives analysis, and trading execution support, offering significant career progression towards an independent risk-taking mandate.

Key responsibilities

  • Contribute to research and development of FX options and volatility strategies across G10 and EM currencies.
  • Support senior PMs in trade structuring, risk management, and portfolio construction.
  • Build and enhance pricing models, volatility surfaces, and risk tools for FX derivatives.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify relative value opportunities across FX vols, skew, and term structure.
  • Collaborate with quant researchers, risk, and technology teams to refine models and infrastructure.
  • Monitor exposures, PnL drivers, and market developments, providing actionable insights to the investment team.

Ideal profile

  • 3–7 years’ experience in FX options/volatility trading, structuring, or research at a hedge fund, bank, or trading firm.
  • Strong technical knowledge of FX derivatives pricing, volatility dynamics, and market microstructure.
  • Proficiency in Python, C++, or similar programming languages for modeling and analytics.
  • Solid understanding of macroeconomics, central bank policy, and global FX market drivers.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to operate in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
  • Advanced degree in Mathematics, Financial Engineering, Economics, or related quantitative field.
