We currently partnered with a leading global fund who are looking for a Desktop Engineer to join their team in NY. You will be focused on continually improving their end user experience, identifying areas for change, and working with key stakeholders to make the technology more integrated.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that the IT needs of the user bases are always met, and that their experience is second to none
- Act as the first point of contact for the business, technology, and client functions, ensuring issues and trends are identified and acted upon
- Manage the new joiner setup process to ensure the best experience for new employees
- Manage in-office physical equipment (meeting rooms, workstation setups); including working with our procurement team to keep accurate and adequate stock
- Resolving helpdesk tickets, owning a variety of requests from access to installations to troubleshooting windows environment
- Working with/supporting 3rd party providers and vendors of office equipment
- Understanding the business requirements (e.g. functionality, expected timelines) and technical capabilities (e.g. network performance, software, and services etc.)
- Analyse events, handle incidents effectively and influence decisions to improve the reliability and speed of the response
Requirements:
- PowerShell
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft applications (including PowerPoint & SharePoint)
- Extensive knowledge in supporting windows operating systems and applications
- Strong desktop, office device and network troubleshooting skills (Telephony, Internet, accessories)
- Active Directory, basic networking concepts (DNS, DHCP etc), Group Policy, printing
- Zoom/Webex/Teams meetings management and support
- Mobile Device Management (Intune, AirWatch, Jamf)
